A email from Paul on July 16th, 2004 read:

I've reached a decision to sell everything and pursue a long time interest, with fast cars, particularly drag racing vehicles. I am sure that I will be disappointing a number of people. This was never my intention, but fate intervened.

At this point I am planning of operating the fall schedule of CQWW RTTY, SSB and CW.  In the mean time, I will be looking for buyers for station hardware and a large inventory of parts.

Paul has sold everything. It's sad to see it go...if you look at the scores page, you'll see that this location and station does extremely well in the Multi-Two category, including 7 out of 8 number 1 finishes for M/2 category for CQWW and ARRL DX contests in the last 2 years, both modes.

For those looking for some sort of further explaination, I'll add this:

I don't know if Paul will have much to share about this...he's not a man of many words.  But, several years before I met Paul (which was 1990), I don't know the exact details, but Paul once owned or sponsored a race car. Paul has always been a race fan.  He took me to my first (and only) race.  While we perpetually worked on the KS9K contesting station in Wisconsin, he'd force me to listen to what he called "church", which was a low power AM radio talk show all about racing news and people calling in. He's been to more Daytona 500's than I can count, and several other big ones, as well as some of the local WI races.

I believe that a VA local rekindled the racing juices, stronger than ever.  Also, Paul plans on moving back a little closer to WI so he and his wife Betsy can be closer to their kids and grandkids.

If he tackles racing like he does ham radio contesting, he'll be taking home some prize money in no time!
